Driven by our keenness on cherishing the Nabataean civilization and supporting tourism in Jordan, Bank ABC Jordan's banking app “ila” sponsored the Petra Light Festival, which is held from April 23rd till May 3rd in the rose-red city of Petra, one of the new seven wonders of the world located in southern Jordan.

Petra Light Festival themed “Rebirth” aims to honor and celebrate the great Nabataean civilization by presenting visitors with breathtaking shows using light and sound technology, so that they can live a unique multi-sensory, 3D digital experience that combines modern technology and ancient architecture. The festival includes attractive and dazzling displays of colored lights, highlighting the beauty and charm of Petra carved in its rocks and presenting it in a completely new image that reflects its history, magnificence and beauty, giving the charming ancient city a new look this year.

The General Manager of Bank ABC Jordan, Mr. George Farah Sofia, pointed out that this sponsorship is part of the Bank’s belief in the importance of this festival and its role in highlighting Jordan as home to culture and civilization. Mr. Sofia added that this sponsorship stimulates tourism by presenting Jordan as a gateway to culture and tourist destination for many Arab and foreign tourists, in addition to establishing Jordan on the Arab and international cultural map.

The sponsorship of Petra Light Festival is part of “ila” responsibility towards the Jordanian society and support of local talent, as well as its belief in the need to utilize modern technology to highlight the beauty and importance of Jordan’s heritage and history in an innovative extraordinary manner in line with the vision of the banking app “ila”.

Visitors to the event were impressed by the interactive visual experience it offered, which mirrored its brand and complemented its overall design. A large number of people visited the "ila" booth, where the Bank's team showcased the company's most recent services and products.

It is worth mentioning that “ila” is a banking app for smart phones only that was launched in September 2022 and is supported by Bank ABC Jordan. This app was designed using artificial intelligence and data analysis technologies, which makes it user-friendly and helps achieve its goal of attracting and serving a wide group of users; beginning with millennials, followed by elder clients, and finally including all societal segments. Currently its services include a fully digitized account opening process, instant virtual card for use in online transactions, actual debit card, multi-currency account, current account without minimum balance or duration requirements and “Hassala” a savings pot, which encourages saving in order to achieve financial aspirations.
